2020 Honda Pilot Review
If you’re looking to take on the streets of Santa Ana, Tustin, and Rancho Santa Margarita in a spacious and powerful SUV, then the 2020 Honda Pilot is probably pretty high on your list of potential vehicles to check out. Well, you’ve come to the right place, because our team at Norm Reeves Honda Superstore Irvine is here to provide some insight.
This 2020 Honda Pilot review will take the time to explore this new Honda SUV so you can see what it offers, and you’ll be able to tell if it’s the right choice for you.
2020 Pilot Engine Power & Performance
The new Honda Pilot can certainly add more teeth to your adventures thanks to its 3.5L V6 engine under the hood. It comes paired with the 6-speed automatic transmission, but the higher trims include the 9-speed automatic with Shift-By-Wire and Paddle Shifters.
The engine can boast 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque and features Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM®). This system cuts the cylinder use in half during routine performance so the SUV can achieve optimal efficiency.
Spacious Cabin & Cargo Capacity
This SUV offers 152.9 cubic feet of passenger space that can accommodate up to eight riders over three rows of seating. Riders up front get 40.1 inches of headroom and 40.9 inches of legroom while the second row gets 40.2 inches of headroom and 38.4 inches of legroom. Third-row passengers get 38.9 inches of headroom and 31.9 inches of legroom.
The new Honda Pilot also offers plenty of space in back for your cargo and materials. The Pilot includes 16.5 cubic feet of space behind row three. However, folding down row three nets you 46.8 cubic feet, and 83.9 cubic feet when the last two rows are folded flat.
Entertainment & Safety Tech
The cabin of the 2020 Pilot includes plenty of fun features to keep you and your passengers entertained. It comes standard with the 5-inch display but going for the next trim will add the 8-inch screen as well as some impressive features like Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. These features integrate your phone into the screen so you can have direct access to your apps, contacts, and media right from the road.
The new Honda Pilot also includes Honda Sensing® features. These driver-assisting technologies can help you reduce the severity of a collision or avoid it altogether based on speed and proximity readings from the exterior sensors. It includes features like the Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™), Road Departure Mitigation System, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and more!
